Best product for a start up farm. We don't have the time and money for permanent fencing yet. This smart fence allowed us to rotationally graze our 10 sheep and 3 cows without any issues. All the animals respected the fence without one incident. We move them every day and the fence rolls up quickly and sets up in just a few minutes. Super happy with our first one we purchased two more.
Only negative thing is that it can get noisy when unwinding and the reel gets stuck at times. To overcome this we simply remove the handle when unwinding allowing for more free play on the reel.

This thing is awesome! It is the only self contained portable fence worth buying. 5 minutes or less to put up and take down. You do need a energizer and a ground rod. I got the Gallagher B10 portable fencer and used a piece of rebar for the ground rod. We use for camping and grazing the horses.

Good overall, needs more fence posts but on-board posts can be supplemented with other plastic temp fence posts. Only have used it for three weeks, we will see how it holds up.

I set up a lot of electric fences like this. This system is by far the easiest I have ever experienced. It can be a problem if you need more posts than it has although it is not too hard to carry some separate posts that can be put in place after it is set up.

I bought this in the spring and it is now October. I have used the product multiple times and absolutely love it!!! When I go horse camping it takes 10 minutes to set up - while my friends portable fences take 45 mins to an hour. I also use it on the farm to rotate grazing areas - it is plenty big and so easy to use. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. Well worth the price for the time and convenience it affords you.

This works for my dogs and horses. The goats - well they are goats, so sometimes they stay in and sometimes they take the shock. I use fencing, electric fencing and guardian animals together.

Never owned a portable fencing system before but always saw them at the horse camps. We love this smart fence. This fence goes up so easy and quick, my husband puts this up by himself in less than 10 minutes. We use it at camp when horse camping, the D cell fence energizer gives enough jolt to keep the horses on their toes, they are very respectable of it. I would recommend this system over any of the portable fencing systems for horses that are on the market.

This was great- i had 3 horses in it. I use it to graze my horses in a bigger field that isnt fenced in. after they grazed down the area i would rotate it. This takes no time to set it up, you will learn how big you can make it after setting it up a few tmes. Taking it down is easy too. My issue is that my horse ran thru it and a wire broke and a piece on the base that holds up the top wire snapped. I called Gallagher to try and get parts, and i have to buy the whole thing again. I love it but thats a lot of money. I cant just get a new wire, or piece for the base. Using a fence system you can mend is way better.
